With Saturday Night Live confirming Jack Black as its latest host, the comedy veteran has joined an elusive SNL club that only features a handful of celebrities. His upcoming hosting stint will mark the fifth instance that the actor will take to the stage as anchor of the late-night live sketch comedy show, also making him eligible for the SNL ‘Five-Timers Club.’

Saturday Night Live has announced its latest line-up, with the Kung Fu Panda star taking up the hosting duties for the April 4 episode.

Moreover, former White Stripes lead Jack White is coming in as the musical guest, as per Deadline. Notably, Jack Black will be returning to SNL as host for the fifth time in his prolonged career in a bid to promote his forthcoming feature, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

As such, the 56-year-old Hollywood veteran has earned a spot in the show’s distinguished ‘Five-Timers Club.’ He made his first SNL appearance as host back in 1999, before reprising the role in 2003 and 2005. After a 20-year hiatus, Black returned to headline a Saturday Night Live episode on April 5, 2025.

Now, the three-time Golden Globe Award winner is set to host the fan-favorite comedy show for the fifth time on April 4, 2026. In accordance, Jack Black also becomes the 28th actor/artist to make his way into the ‘Five-Timers Club.’

Seasoned SNL star Alec Baldwin leads the list with the most hosting stints, having anchored the comedy show 17 times. Moreover, comedy legend Steve Martin closely follows Baldwin in second place with 16 SNL hosting credits on his resume.

Other notable members of the ‘Five-Timers Club’ include John Goodman (13 times), Tom Hanks (10 times), Buck Henry (10 times), Chevy Chase (8 times), Christopher Walken (7 times), Scarlett Johansson (7 times), and more.
