The first trailer for the upcoming post-apocalyptic movie The Dog Stars was just unveiled at CinemaCon.

Ridley Scott directs the upcoming movie with a star-studded cast that includes Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, and Oscar winner Allison Janney.

The thriller is set in a world where survival is instinct, but humanity is a choice. The Dog Stars tells “the story of Hig, a young pilot who, together with a military survivalist, Bangley, has carved out an efficient but isolated homestead in a brutal post-apocalyptic world until a mysterious radio transmission spurs Hig to venture into the unknown in search of the hope and humanity he still believes exists.”

The movie will launch in theaters on August 28 and it will get an IMAX release.

Paul Mescal was originally set to star in the movie, setting the stage for a reunion with Ridley Scott after working together on Gladiator II. Due to the time commitment with the four-film Beatles project, he had to drop out of the movie and Jacob landed the role instead.
