One of Lionsgate’s hit action thriller movies starring Jason Statham has finally found a new streaming home. Beginning today, Statham’s 2006 film Crank is now officially available to stream on Peacock.

What do we know about Jason Statham’s Crank movie?

Crank was written and directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, serving as their feature directorial debut. In the film, Statham plays a British assassin who gets poisoned by a synthetic drug. The cast also included Amy Smart, Carlos Sanz, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Efren Ramirez, Dwight Yoakam, Keone Young, Reno Wilson, Edi Gathegi, Sam Witwer, Glenn Howerton, and more.

“Chev Chelios (Statham), a hit man wanting to go straight, lets his latest target slip away, then he awakes the next morning to a phone call that informs him he has been poisoned and has only an hour to live unless he keeps adrenaline coursing through his body while he searches for an antidote,” reads the official synopsis.

Crank was produced by Michael Davis, Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg, Richard Wright, and Skip Williamson. Executive producers were Peter Block, Michael Paseornek, Eric Reid, and David Scott Rubin. The movie received a Popcornmeter score of 71% on Rotten Tomatoes. Due to its success, it received a sequel in 2009, titled Crank: High Voltage, with Statham reprising his character.
