Vice President JD Vance is representing the United States at the Olympic games and he was booed loudly by the audience at the Opening Ceremony.

The 41-year-old VP and his pregnant wife, Second Lady Usha Vance, were in the stands during the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony inside the historic San Siro Stadium on Friday night (February 6) in Milan, Italy.

When Team USA made their entrance in the stadium, the crowd cheered loudly for them, but then Vance was shown on the screen.

The cheers turned to boos.

“There’s the Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha… oof, those are a lot of boos for him,” the NBC announcer was heard saying.

USA Today is reporting that “the crowd booed loudly.”

The U.S. team was the third-to-last team to enter the stadium. They were followed by France, who will host the 2030 Winter Games, and Italy, who are hosting the current games.

The Vances announced their pregnancy news just a couple weeks ago.
