Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are breaking their silence after their son Joseph Duggar was arrested for child molestation allegations.

On March 18, the 31-year-old former 19 Kids and Counting star was arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor who is said to now be 14-years-old. He was charged in connection with a child sexual abuse case involving a then-9-year-old girl, who was on vacation with her family in Panama City Beach, Florida in 2020.

On Monday (March 30), Jim Bob, 60, and Michelle, 59, released a statement addressing their son’s arrest.

Keep reading to find out more…“Jim Bob and Michelle are heartbroken over this entire situation,” a spokesperson for the Duggar family told Us Weekly in a statement. “Right now, they are focused on loving their family and helping Kendra and her children during this difficult time.”

“They are praying for the victim,” the spokesperson continued. “They ask for privacy and appreciate the kind words and prayers offered by so many.”

Days after Joseph‘s arrest, his wife Kendra Duggar was also arrested, but on completely unrelated charges. Find out more here.
