John Cusack is standing by Mark Ruffalo‘s side.

The 60-year-old Say Anything actor took to his Twitter/X account on Saturday (August 22) to show support for the Spider-Man: Brand New Day actor after he hit back at claims from Paramount that he was antisemitic.

John reposted Mark‘s statement in response to Paramount and wrote, “Solidarity – well said.”

Paul Walter Hauser also shows support for Mark Ruffalo

Paul Walter Hauser took to his Instagram account on Sunday (August 23), showing his support for Mark as well.

“MARK RUFFALO If you think that Mark Ruffalo is antisemitic, you are an actual moron,” he wrote in a screenshot posted on his account.

In the caption, Paul shared a red heart emoji, followed by “Mark. Focus on an actual harmful person, not the guy who everyone in Hollywood knows is hyper-intelligent, empathetic and talented. Find a new target, dude.”

Why are Mark Ruffalo and Paramount feuding?

Previously, Mark called out the Ellison family over the Paramount-Warner Bros merger, comparing Larry Ellison, Oracle’s former CEO and a billionaire with a controlling stake in Paramount that is being managed by his son, David Ellison, to a “classic Oligarch.”

A spokesperson for Paramount then responded to Mark‘s message saying the company is “troubled when antisemitic tropes are invoked in purported service of a business dispute. Words like ‘genocide’ and ‘apartheid,’ applied to a corporate transaction, aren’t just wrong — they’re a bridge too far, and they cheapen the very real suffering those words are meant to describe. This doesn’t deserve a response in kind — and to be clear, we don’t tolerate prejudice of any kind, against anyone,” per Variety.
