John Travolta‘s directorial debut will make its world premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival before its Apple TV launch.

His film is a smaller, lesser-known title that has mostly flown under the radar. It’s called Propeller One-Way Night Coach. It is inspired by the book of the same name that John wrote for his son.

Here is the synopsis shared by Apple Original Films, “Set in the golden age of aviation, a young airplane enthusiast Jeff (played by newcomer Clark Shotwell) and his mother (Kelly Eviston-Quinnett) set off on a one-way cross country odyssey to Hollywood, which transforms a simple flight into the trip of a lifetime. Between airline meals, charming flight attendants (played by Ella Bleu Travolta and Olga Hoffman), unexpected stopovers, larger-than-life passengers, and a thrilling glimpse at first class, the journey unfolds in moments both magical and unexpected, charting the course for the boy’s future.”

The Pulp Fiction star directed, wrote, and produced the film. Jason Berger and Amy Laslett also produced.

John stars in it as the “Narrator” alongside his daughter Ella Bleu Travolta and cast members Clark Shotwell, Kelly Eviston-Quinnett, and Olga Hoffman.

Barbara Streisand is set to receive a major honor at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
