Jon Bernthal & Ebon Moss-Bachrach Celebrate Opening Night of 'Dog Day Afternoon' on Broadway Amid Sell-Out Success

Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach‘s Broadway play Dog Day Afternoon is officially open!

The actors, who previously worked together on the FX series The Bear, walked the red carpet together at the opening night performance on Monday (March 30) in New York City.

The guys were joined on the carpet by co-stars John Ortiz and Jessica Hecht. The show is an adaptation of the acclaimed 1975 Oscar-winning movie of the same name. The play is written by Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis and directed by Rupert Goold.

Dog Day Afternoon is on its way to being one of the biggest hits of the season, with every performance so far being sold out. The play continues to gross more and more, week after week, according to the Broadway box office data.

Here’s the synopsis: “Step back into the sweltering summer of 1972, New York City—a time when the Vietnam War looms large, Watergate headlines flood the news, and one man’s desperate act captivates the nation. A Brooklyn bank hold up quickly goes wrong, and with each gut-wrenching twist that unfolds, chaos ensues that ignites the city as they follow the actions of a man on the edge.”
