Joshua Jackson was thrilled to work with Katie Holmes again.

The two Dawson’s Creek alums are collaborating in the upcoming movie Happy Hours, which is about a couple who dated as teenagers reconnecting and potentially rekindling their romance as adults.

It’s quite fitting for Joshua and Katie, who played the beloved TV couple Pacey and Joey on the teen drama series.

During a recent visit to Today, the actor talked about their collab.

“She’s a lifelong friend now. And for us to get to go back and be able to do this again and honestly for her to create that space for us, was kind of magical,” he shared.

The Fringe star said they had “so much fun” filming the movie last summer. Katie wrote a “beautiful love story in three parts,” and he’s hopeful they will get to make the other two parts.

Last July, Katie shared a tribute post to Joshua on Instagram.

“I am so very grateful to be working again with so many of my wonderful friends on this film HAPPY HOURS. And working with Josh after so many years is a testament to friendship. HAPPY HOURS is a love story that includes so many people I adore. We can’t wait for everyone to see what we make,” she wrote.

Joshua recently spoke out for the first time about the passing of fellow Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek.
