Kate Middleton Takes On Solo Duty for Anzac Day Commemorations

Kate Middleton went on a solo outing for Anzac Day commemorations on Saturday (April 25).

The Princess of Wales observed the day of remembrance at Cenotaph by attending the parade service and laying a wreath on behalf of her father-in-law King Charles.

She has previously attended the commemoration ceremony twice before, but this was her first time going alone.

Anzac Day is an occasion to honor the soldiers of Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought and died in World War I, especially during the Gallipoli campaign of 1915.

According to Town & Country, the Princess also attended a Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey.

For the occasion, she wore a navy dress with white lapels and a Jane Taylor London fascinator hat.

Kate accessorized with Princess Diana‘s sapphire drop earrings, a G. Collins & Sons Tanzanite pendant necklace, and a DeMellier bag. She finished the look with a pair of heels and a crimson poppy pinned to her left breast to honor the fallen troops.

Earlier this week, she joined Royal family members Prince William, King Charles, and Queen Camilla to celebrate what would have been the 100th birthday of Charles‘ mother Queen Elizabeth II. See the photos here.
