Kelly Ripa will be missing several weeks of her Live! talk show amid her recovery from surgery.

The talk show host’s husband and co-host Mark Consuelos revealed this week that Kelly had to miss Monday’s episode due to gum graft surgery.

“Her dentist said five years ago, ‘You can do it in about five years.’ And she joked, ‘I didn’t think I’d still be on the air in five years!’” Mark shared.

According to Mark, Kelly is under doctor’s orders not to speak while she recovers from the dental procedure, which is used to help treat thinning or receding gums by transferring healthy tissue to cover any exposed roots. Cleveland Clinic reports it is one of the most common periodontal procedures in the U.S.

Entertainment Weekly is now reporting that Kelly will miss three weeks of the show and a slate of guest hosts has been set.

Sarah Chalke, Jenna Dewan, and Carrie Coon are among the celebs who will fill in for Kelly. Right now, Kevin Jonas is serving as guest co-host.

On Tuesday’s show, Mark revealed that Kelly isn’t supposed to be speaking, but she’s finding a way to do it anyways.

“She’s doing it without moving her bottom lip,” he said. “And she got a lot of love, messages, people were checking in, cause we announced it on the show that she had surgery.”
