Lilo & Stitch 2 and the planned live-action Tangled movie got some new information, with Disney previewing both of the highly anticipated movies.

During D23’s Expo, Disney showed off more of what the live-action sequel to Lilo & Stitch’s will be like. In a brief teaser video for the movie, Stitch showed up on screen to unveil the sequel’s logo, which looked to be a heart. However, after some pulling, Stitch actually unveils Angel. Known as Experiment 624, Angel is another alien like Stitch, and was first introduced in the Lilo & Stitch animated series.

The live-action Lilo & Stitch remake was a smash hit for Disney. The movie earned over $1 billion at the box office, and became the highest-grossing live-action/animated hybrid movie in history. The movie was directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, and written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes. The film starred Sydney Elizabeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, Courtney B. Vance, Zach Galifianakis, and Maia Kealoha.

Tangled’s live-action movie gets a new update

Along with Lilo & Stitch 2, Disney also officially set the release date for the live-action version of Tangled. The movie, which has long been in development and was nearly canceled, will release on March 31, 2028.

The release date also came with a new teaser trailer, showing off the first look at Teagan Croft as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider, and Kathryhn Hahn as Mother Gothel.
