Lucy Dacus is back with her first new song of the year, “Planting Tomatoes.” The track, which she originally released as a Record Store Day exclusive on April 18, landed on DSPs today, April 24/ It comes alongside a shopping list-inspired lyric video that Dacus shot herself in Tokyo. Dacus shared her most recent solo album, Forever Is a Feeling, in March 2025. Her debut album as Boygenius, her trio with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker, arrived in 2023, earning her and the band three Grammys including Best Rock Song for “Not Strong Enough.” Dacus will head out on a North American tour later this year; for the run of shows, she’s partnered with the Ally Coalition to donate one dollar from every ticket sold to organizations supporting young queer and trans people.
