A visual artist, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter based in Louisville, Kentucky, Ryan Davis gathered his band back together to record New Threats From the Soul with producer Seth Manchester at Machines With Magnets. The follow-up to 2023’s Dancing on the Edge was led by the single “New Threats From the Soul,” a nearly 10-minute barn burner of a country song complete with a guest spot by alt-country icon Catherine Irwin of Freakwater. The full album is due out July 25.
