Brad Winderbaum hopes that big MCU TV shows could someday get theatrical releases.

Over the past few months, a trend of releasing big episodes of television in movie theaters has started to take off. This has been done before 2026; however, in just the past few months, series like Stranger Things, One Piece, Invincible, and The Pitt have all held or announced special events where fans can watch certain episodes — typically earlier than they air on TV or are released on a streaming service — inside of a movie theater.

What did Brad Winderbaum say about MCU TV shows and movie theaters?

Winderbaum — who is the head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios — was asked by The Escape Pod if there were any plans to release certain episodes, whether it be premieres or finales, of MCU TV shows in movie theaters.

Winderbaum didn’t confirm that anything like this was in the works at this time at Marvel; however, he did express his desire to make it happen someday.

“I want to do that so bad,” Winderbaum said. “I want to do that so bad.”

Winderbaum mentioned that “maybe” Marvel could do this for the “finale” of Daredevil: Born Again, though this doesn’t seem to be confirmation that this will be happening in the coming weeks for the final episode of Born Again Season 2; rather, it appears that Winderbaum was just throwing it out as a potential idea that may or may not wind up happening.

Winderbaum concluded, “We’ve got to do it. We’ve got to do it.”

Following the conclusion of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Marvel Television is releasing The Punisher: One Last Kill on May 12, 2026. VisionQuest, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2, and X-Men ’97 Season 2 are also all expected to premiere on Disney+ this year, though none of them have specific release dates at this time.
