Wonder Man Season 2 is officially happening at Disney+, and the excitement among viewers is palpable. Marvel Television has ordered more episodes of the Hollywood-set series, bringing back its lead stars and creative team for another round.

Marvel Television’s Wonder Man, who deviated from the usual comic book trope, is officially coming back. That’s not all, as the main creative and talent in front of and behind the camera are also set to return.

Fans celebrated the news on social media. One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Let’s gooooooo! #Wonderman S2! This was such a great show, enjoyed watching with my daughter.” Another posted, “WONDER MAN SEASON 2 WE WON.” A third commented, “Damnn that was rather quick, but absolutely deserved.”

And it is news to celebrate, as only two other live-action Marvel shows, aka Loki and Daredevil: Born Again, have received second seasons. Season 1 premiered to strong reviews, currently holding a 91% Tomatometer score and 87% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes. According to Nielsen, the show accumulated 618 million minutes of watch time during its first week, landing in the streaming service’s top 10 original series (via Cosmic Book News).

Leaving out Marvel’s usual superheroics and destructive fights, Wonder Man focused on struggling actor Simon Williams, who is trying to hide his powers. Doing all this, while he tries to make it in Hollywood and eventually ends up landing the lead in a remake of a superhero movie titled Wonder Man. On this journey, he ends up with Trevor Slattery, a veteran actor with hidden motives.

Now, Wonder Man Season 2 will bring back Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams and Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery. Co-creators Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest are also returning, with Guest resuming showrunner duties and Cretton attached as director and executive producer.

Marvel hasn’t announced the official release date of Wonder Man Season 2.
