Nelly Furtado is making her return to the red carpet after announcing she was stepping away from live performances for the “foreseeable future.”

The 47-year-old “Promiscuous” singer hit the red carpet at the 2026 JUNO Awards, where she was inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame at the TD Coliseum on Sunday night (March 29) in Hamilton, Ontario in Canada.

“Here we go again, @thejunoawards! Tonight I’ll be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame. I’m thrilled to celebrate with my fellow community of Canadian musicians! I’m feeling so grateful (and nervous🙈!) ❤️,” she wrote on her Instagram.

“What an honor. Canada is a dream. I’m literally a product of the Canadian dream,” she said during her acceptance speech. Watch above!

The appearance comes nearly six months after she made the shocking announcement that she was stepping away from live performances on her social media.

“I have decided to step away from performance for the foreseeable future and pursue some other creative and personal endeavours that I feel would better suit this next phase of my life,” she explained.

“I have enjoyed my career immensely, and I still love writing music as I have always seen it as a hobby I was lucky enough to make into a career. I’ll identify as a songwriter forever.”

The announcement of stepping away from stage shows also coincided with some body shaming comments on social media last summer, to which she seemingly responded with an outfit during a live performance.

Months before, Nelly shared a photo in a bikini to her Instagram and wrote: “HAVE A BODY NEUTRAL 2025, 😉, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, LOVE WITH EVERY INCH OF YOUR HEART ♥️THANKS FOR ALL THE MEMORIES THIS YEAR 🙏🏼…this year I became aware of the aesthetic pressure of my work in a brand new way, while simultaneously I experienced new levels of self-love and genuine confidence from within.”
