Netflix has acquired Phoebe Dynevor‘s untitled shark thriller from Sony.

The film hails from Dead Snow and Violent Night director Tommy Wirkola. It was previously on the studio’s theatrical release calendar for summer 2026, but Deadline reports that it was pulled on Friday (January 16), with the rights sold to Netflix.

No plot details have been shared, but it was previously titled Shiver and Beneath the Storm (now untitled) and also stars Whitney Peak and Djimon Hounsou.

Adam McKay and Kevin Messick are producing for HyperObject Industries.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be back in business with all our friends at Netflix on this film,” Adam told the outlet in a statement. “We had a great experience together on Don’t Look Up and look forward to working with them to make this an event streaming release in 2026.”

Phoebe will also star opposite of Jake Gyllenhaal in the romantic supernatural thriller Remain from Nicholas Sparks and M. Night Shyamalan coming out in May 2027.
