Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayHealth IT solutions provider OCHIN is working with management services organization Community Care Cooperative (C3) on a new accountable care organization (ACO) offering for community healthcare organizations.
The nonprofit organizations said Portland, Ore.-based OCHIN will continue to provide the OCHIN Epic EHR platform and data-driven consultative support while Boston-based C3 will provide a comprehensive suite of Medicare ACOs for these organizations to join, and will provide OCHIN members with consulting, financial forecasts, and assessments to help them navigate the value-based payment landscape.
The organizations said the new ACO partnership offers the combined strength of OCHIN’s Epic EHR insights and knowledge solutions with the value-based care expertise of C3 to deliver enhanced care management and cost savings for more than 300 rural and community care organizations across both provider networks.
In response to a question from Healthcare Innovation, OCHIN noted that both organizations will retain their operational independence and share financial risk to ensure the greatest possible return for their members. OCHIN and C3 said the partnership is a direct response to FQHC member demand for a simpler, more financially sustainable approach to Medicare value-based care that reduces their risk and increases their revenue.
OCHIN said “members who join one of C3's Medicare ACO options will enjoy 75% of shared savings - the highest in the industry - with reduced risk, because the OCHIN and C3 partnership covers most of the potential downside losses.”
The partnership is designed to take advantage of the inherent strengths of both organizations, including C3's success with operating Medicare ACOs and generating shared savings for health centers as well as the OCHIN Network’s strong track record in industry-leading care outcomes.
Through their participation in both the OCHIN Collaborative and the C3 ACO, members will have access to best practices, workflows, and value-based tools available in the EHR at no cost.
