Olivia Dean has won Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammys. She claimed one of the Big Four trophies over fellow nominees Leon Thomas, Addison Rae, Lola Young, Alex Warren, Katseye, the Marías, and Sombr. She was propelled by her album, The Art of Loving.

In her speech, she highlighted her background as a descendent of immigrants, urging for unity. “I’m up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant,” she said. “I’m a product of bravery and I think those people deserve to be celebrated. We’re nothing without each other.”

Leon Thomas made his solo Grammys arrival in style this year, notching up six nominations including another Big Four nod, in Album of the Year, for Mutt. He is the only Best New Artist nominee to have a prior Grammy in the cabinet, too. That was for his contribution to SZA’s 2024 Best R&B Song “Snooze.” Of the other nominees, Katseye and Lola Young had a nomination apiece in pop performance categories earlier tonight, and the Marías were previously nominated for their contributions to Bad Bunny’s 2023 Album of the Year contender Un Verano Sin Ti.
