Olivia Munn is opening up after enduring multiple surgeries amid her breast cancer diagnosis.

The 45-year-old actress got candid in a conversation following her bilateral breast cancer diagnosis in 2023.

While speaking about her four rounds of surgery, Olivia shared the moment she felt beautiful again afterward, which happened while attending friend James Marsden‘s 50th birthday party in September of 2023.

“I was not feeling like myself and feeling pretty or anything like that, but I thought this was a great opportunity for me to get dressed up and go somewhere and just see how I feel,” she told People.

“I got all glammed up and did everything, and I was like, ‘Okay, I feel my best.’ And I went to his party, and it was such a fun party, and I had such a great time,” she went on to say, adding that it was also the night John Mulaney proposed to her at their hotel.

“He was like, ‘I knew that you would want to feel really great, and I wanted to give you that moment. I didn’t know when it would be, but when you said you wanted to go to this birthday party and give yourself a chance to get dressed up, I thought, ‘This is the perfect time to do it,’” she recalled.

“So, it’s like, if I didn’t go to that party, he would have eventually proposed, but it was just, it would not have happened that day in that moment, and it was just such a perfect, perfect moment.”

The two then got married in July a year later.

She recently reflected on her cancer journey while being honored at a luncheon last month.
