From Best Actor and Actress to Best Picture, find out which films and movie stars won big by taking home awards at the Oscars 2026 ceremony in Hollywood on March 15.

Timothée Chalamet Reacts to Conan O'Brien's Dig at His Ballet, Opera Comments at Oscars 2026

In Hollywood, there's no night bigger than the Oscars.

And following this year's Academy Awards 2026 ceremony, a handful of famous faces will finally know what it feels like to win the most prestigious award in acting.

Kicking off on Sunday, March 15, from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, the annual award show brings out some of the biggest box office stars for a night honoring the highest achievements in filmmaking over the past year—both in front of the camera and behind.

When it comes to the 2026 nominees, critically acclaimed films Hamnet, One Battle After Another, Marty Supreme, Frankenstein and Sinners are all well-represented in multiple categories, with castmembers like Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Paul Mescal, Jessie Buckley and Wunmi Mosaku all nominated individually for their career-defining performances. (See every star on the red carpet here.)

One of the closest races of the night is definitely Best Actor in a Leading Role. While Timothée Chalamet was a clear frontrunner at the start of the season after winning top honors for his role in Marty Supreme at both the Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards, Sinners' Michael B. Jordan proved he's very much still a contender after his surprising—yet well-deserved—win over Chalamet at The Actor Awards earlier this month.

Weapons' Amy Madigan was an early winner, taking home the very first award of the night for Actress in a Supporting Role.

And while many more of the night’s trophies have yet to be handed out, fans will surely be entertained as they wait to cross-check their Oscars ballots as winners are announced.

Returning as host for his second consecutive year, Conan O’Brien kicked off the ceremony in true Conan fashion, leaving viewers in stitches with his hilarious opening monologue.

"I should warn you, tonight could get political," the former Conan host told viewers at the top of the show. "If that makes you uncomfortable, there’s an alternate Oscars being hosted by Kid Rock."

O'Brien even targeted Chalamet in the wake of his controversial comments disparaging opera and ballet.

"Security is extremely tight tonight," the comedian noted. "I’m told there’s a concern about attacks from both the opera and ballet communities. They’re just mad you left out jazz."

But the shade was all in good fun.

When cameras cut to Chalamet and girlfriend Kylie Jenner sitting in the audience, the couple smiled and laughed along with the rest of the famous faces in the audience.

But that wasn't the only must-see moment from the show.

The Oscars air live Sunday, March 15, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on ABC and Hulu.
