Fashion

Day 2 of Paris Haute Couture Week 2026 unfolded as a celebration of couture’s enduring power to tell stories through craftsmanship, emotion, and imagination. Building on the excitement of the opening day, the second chapter of the week shifted the focus towards depth and detail, with designers embracing refined techniques, elaborate handwork, and deeply considered narratives. From dramatic silhouettes and sculptural constructions to softer expressions of romance and fantasy, the collections showcased couture as both an art form and a reflection of the times.

Together, Day 2’s presentations reinforced the idea that haute couture remains a space where heritage, innovation, and personal expression coexist, elevated, intentional, and unapologetically creative.

Chanel

Chanel’s Day 2 haute couture show marked creative director Matthieu Blazy’s highly anticipated first couture collection for the house, transforming the Grand Palais into a whimsical, enchanted garden. Pastel giant mushrooms, ethereal flora and a poetic haiku set the tone for a collection that blended classic Chanel codes like tweed and pearls with light, airy fabrics, whimsical embroidery and feather-like textures. See-through tailoring and symbolic motifs of freedom and transformation underscored a poetic, emotional narrative, all culminating in a joyful couture bride finale that felt both magical and deeply personal.

Gaurav Gupta

Indian avant-garde couturier Gaurav Gupta presented a spiritually charged collection that wove philosophy into sculptural fashion. Drawing on concepts like advait, or the idea of an indivisible and nonbinary reality, and fluid cosmic narratives, his runway journey evolved from architectural black forms symbolising cosmic beginnings to intricate, flowing gowns punctuated by pseudo-reptilian scales and organic motifs. The result was a sculptural, almost otherworldly array of silhouettes, a couture vision that felt both philosophical and strikingly dramatic.

Stéphane Rolland

French couturier Stéphane Rolland continued his signature celebration of architectural precision and dramatic volume. Known for his mastery of contrast, Rolland’s SS26 couture pieces on Day 2 showcased striking structural silhouettes in monochrome and sleek hues, with sweeping capes, sculptural shapes and gravity-defying gowns that echoed his fascination with movement and form. The collection reaffirmed his reputation as a master of modern couture architecture.

Giorgio Armani Privé

Closing Day 2 was Giorgio Armani Privé, presenting under the newly appointed creative leadership of Silvana Armani. Her debut couture for the house struck a graceful balance between classic Armani refinement and modern ease. Think relaxed, elegant tailoring, soft palettes and whisper-light evening gowns accented with crystal embellishments. The collection leaned into serene, wearable glamour, a poised tribute to the Armani legacy and a fresh expression of its future direction.
