Fans were so saddened to learn of the shocking death of actor Patrick Muldoon, who passed away suddenly from a heart attack at age 57.

Many are noting that his final social media post was shared just two days before his passing. He was celebrating filming his new project, Kockroach.

Fans flooded the comments to mourn his tragic passing.

While his career has spanned decades in TV and film, Patrick is best known for originating the role of Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives. Patrick played the character from 1992 to 1995, and once again from 2011 to 2012. He also appeared on Melrose Place, among dozens of other titles.

Patrick is survived by his partner Miriam Rothbart, parents Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr, sister and brother-in-law Shana and Ahmet Zappa, and their children, niece Halo and nephew Arrow Zappa.
