Pete Davidson is opening up about his decision to get sober. The 32-year-old comedian spoke about it during his recent comedy show on Saturday (April 11) in Las Vegas. “I went to rehab this time. I was like, ‘I’m gonna I’m gonna actually do it so I could save some of this money I’m making and stop blowing it on rehab,’” Pete shared, per footage obtained by Us Weekly. “I did family week, [which is] when, with your therapist, you Zoom your family and they tell you how difficult it is for them to watch you do drugs.” Keep reading to find out more… “I remember my mom popped on the screen, and she was like, ‘Peter, it’s really hard to be your mom. It’s not a fun job.’ I was still, like, newly sober, [thinking], ‘Well, you’re not f–king that special. What do you do?’” he reflected. But it was during his call with mom Amy Davidson that the Saturday Night Live veteran chose to get sober. Pete continued, “She went, ‘Enough.’ She f***ed me up. She was, like, ‘Peter, ‘It’s very hard to be your mom because I wake up every morning with the fear that I’ll turn on the news and see that my son has died.’ She told me all this on Zoom — from the house that I bought her on drugs. I was like, ‘Someone’s getting used to things.’ That got me sober.” He has also booked a new movie role and will soon play a notorious mafia killer in a crime thriller film. More details here.
