Lionsgate Television has signed a non-exclusive deal bringing the hit Starz franchise to Netflix internationally and in the U.S. It is one of the franchise’s biggest moves since its 2014 debut.

Netflix acquires international streaming rights to all four Power universe shows

The November rollout covers Power, Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and Power Book IV: Force. International viewers outside Canada will gain access to every season, though launch dates will differ by country due to Lionsgate’s pre-existing regional contracts. Canada remains off the table because Bell Media already holds streaming rights through its Starz partnership.

A notable domestic change accompanies the deal. The original Power series, which Hulu has carried in the U.S. since 2017, moves to Netflix that same month. Starz keeps its position as the primary American home for the entire universe, continuing to stream all episodes on its own platforms. Other Starz titles like Outlander, Black Sails, and Heels have also found a second life on the platform.

Two upcoming spin-offs stay firmly with Starz. Power: Origins, an 18-episode prequel now in production that explores the origin story of fan-favorite characters Ghost and Tommy, and Power: Legacy, a sequel co-produced by Starz and Lionsgate Television, are not part of the Netflix pact. The fifth and final season of Raising Kanan is currently airing, with its series finale set for 7 August on Starz.

The deal follows the breakout success of Nemesis, a Netflix original from Power creator Courtney Kemp. That series amassed 32.6 million views within six weeks of its May release and earned a Season 2 renewal. Lionsgate has leaned into this playbook before. Last year, it licensed The Hunting Wives to Netflix after the show stalled at Starz. The series became a hit and earned a renewal as a Netflix original.
