Cary Elwes is remembering Rob Reiner on what would have been his 79th birthday.

If you didn’t know, Rob and his wife Michele died in December 2025 with their son Nick charged in their deaths.

On Friday (March 6), Cary, 63, took to Instagram to pay tribute to Rob on his birthday.

Keep reading to find out more…“Today would have been your 79th birthday. Still hard to believe you’re gone. Missing you so much,” Cary wrote along with a photo of himself and Rob on the red carpet at 25th anniversary screening and cast reunion of The Princess Bride during the 50th New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall on Oct. 2, 2012.

Cary starred as Westley in 1987′s The Princess Bride, which Rob directed. The cast also included Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon, Wallace Shawn, Robin Wright, and Billy Crystal.

Nick Reiner has plead not guilty in his parents’ deaths. Their death certificate revealed tragic details of what allegedly happened.
