You may have heard the founder of Pvolve, Rachel Katzman on The Bossticks recently, or perhaps you already have the Lauryn Bosstick x Pvolve French blue equipement.

Or maybe you’ve been a fan since she first appeared on the show years ago and now you know that Pvolve is Jennifer Anniston’s favorite workout (SHE asked Rachel if she could be an ambassador. So major.) You can hear more about that here.

We asked Rachel some questions about the collaboration, her must-have products and her routine. As someone who is gorgeous inside and out, smart as a whip, cool, calm and collected, we HAD to know how she make it all happen.

Walk us through your AM and PM routine.

AM:

Tongue scrape with copper tool. Rinse face with lukewarm water. 

Warm water or herbal tea with added minerals.

Take my cats outside to get direct sunlight and start checking emails, slacks and texts

Workout (I need to start my day with moving my body, either an in person studio class or even a 20 minute streaming video. It gives me instant energy and puts me in a good mood).

5-10 mins on my vibration plate using my ice roller.

Protein forward breakfast.

PM:

My favorite part of the day and where I spend the most me time winding down and turning off. 

Wash my face, go on my PEMF mat with my legs up on the wall and my face under my Celluma LED light. I usually listen to a meditation or sometime calming grounding music. 

If I’m not doing a mask, I get into my skincare and take the time to really massage my face and scalp. I love using this tool before bed to get any knots out of my neck, shoulders and massage the scalp.

If I’m extra stressed I love using the Pulsetto calm my nervous system down.

I write in my journal which has been such a game changer for my sleep. Everything in my head goes down on paper. 

Then it’s always an episode of Housewives, Summer House, or anything on Bravo. I need to fully zone out before I go to sleep 

What is a skincare non-negotiable that makes all the difference?

The right type of cleanser! If your face isn’t properly cleaned first, the rest of your products won’t be as effective. Make sure to really wash your face from your hairline, to your ears, and under the jaw/chin. If you’ve been wearing SPF/Makeup cleanse twice, first with an oil cleanser (Epicutis) or micellar water (love these pads), then with your cleanser. How do you prep for workouts?

I love to lay out my workout clothes the night before, this saves me time in the morning. 

I always make my Sculpt 9 to have after my workout is finished. It’s Pvolve’s recovery drink which has all 9 essential amino acids- this has been a huge game changer for me, I have so much less muscle soreness which allows me to stay consistent with my routine (tip: add lots of ice and half a lemon to your drink).

I workout earlier in the morning, I have my breakfast prepped and ready in the fridge so it’s easily accessible when I get home. If I’m making eggs, things are on the top shelf ready for me to grab and make, if I’m making a smoothie bowl, everything is laid out waiting for me.

I always have my workout in my calendar! Even if it’s a quick 15-20 minute streaming, I have it scheduled, and I pick the video the night before!

I’m all about the 5 Ps, Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.

What do you recommend for women who want to change their body, get strong but stay calm and grounded? 

Find something you and your body actually enjoy! Your workout should make you feel good and you should be excited to do it. This is the thing that will create the habit and make movement a part of your life. Start small, commit to 1 day a week for a month. You will feel so good that 1 day turns into 2 than 3 etc.

With your health, your body, your mind it is all about the long game. Yes we want to see results today, but finding the right thing for you is what creates consistency and creates long term, lasting results. I really believe Pvolve can be that thing for you.

What’s a small habit you start every day with that sets the tone for your day? 

I always make sure to leave 5-10 minutes in the morning for cuddle time with my cats. Matsu loves nothing more than to be held in my arms like a baby. I put some music on and am so present in that moment with him and truly nothing makes me happier. It instantly calms me down and puts me in a good mood before I tackle the work day.

Tell us your top products everyone should try:

Uggs – the mini II style is my favorite and no they are not out of style!

Rest and Digest tea – calms my stomach down and instantly debloats. You can also start your day with it if your digestion feels off.

A journal – Writing your thoughts down, getting it onto paper and out of your head will help with any stress, anxiety, and help support nervous system regulation. Any journal or a piece of paper will do.

Massage Balls – I roll out my feet every morning and night. We carry and hold so much tension in our feet, and without proper foot mobility you’ll start to feel tension throughout your legs and hips that should not be there. 

What drew Pvolve to partner with Lauryn for this collaboration?

I met Lauryn right when I launched Pvolve and from day 1 she always got our mission and our why. She loved the workout and we just clicked. It has been amazing to watch both of our companies evolve and grow over these past 8 years and to have a friend that I can watch and learn from.
