Rebecca Gayheart is speaking out for the first time following the death of husband Eric Dane.

The beloved Grey’s Anatomy actor, best known for his character’s nickname McSteamy, passed away on February 19 at the age of 53 following a battle with ALS.

On Saturday (February 21), Rebecca, 54, shared returned to social media to share her first message following Eric‘s passing.

Keep reading to find out more…“Thank you to everyone,” Rebecca wrote on her Instagram Story along with a link to the GoFundMe campaign set up by friends to support her and Eric’s daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14.

Rebecca also shared multiple throwback family photos with Eric and their daughters on her Story.

If you didn’t know, Eric and Rebecca married in October 2024 and split 13 years later in 2018. However, they later called off their divorce.

In his final interview, Eric said that he and Rebecca still “deeply” loved each other. He also shared his emotional “last words” to his daughters.

Also on Saturday, Eric‘s girlfriend Janell Shirtcliff returned to Instagram to share her first posts following his death.
