Ryan Phillippe has booked a new TV role! On Monday (April 20), it was announced that the 51-year-old Cruel Intentions actor has joined the cast of ABC’s drama series 9-1-1: Nashville for season 2. Deadline reports that Ryan has signed a multi-year deal with the show. Keep reading to find out more…Ryan will be playing a “brilliant, iconoclastic detective who moves to Nashville from New York. A seductive bad boy with a past, he’ll stir up all kinds of juicy drama with our first responders while leading an investigation into a mysterious criminal tormenting Nashville on a biblical scale.” He joins current series regulars Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, Hailey Kilgore, and Hunter McVey. The Ryan Murphy series will follow first responders in the Tennessee-based city, and is billed as “a high-octane procedural about heroic first responders, as well as their family saga of power and glamour set in one of America’s most diverse and dynamic cities.” 9-1-1: Nashville premiered in October 2025 and was renewed for a second season in March. After a hiatus, 9-1-1: Nashville returns with new episodes on April 30 and the season finale is scheduled to air on Thursday, May 7.
