The revival of Scrubs became a huge hit, with the first set of episodes capturing the imagination of thousands of fans. Now, fans are already eager to know if the Scrubs revival season 2 is on the horizon. While not yet confirmed, there seems to be a good chance that fans will get more of the Scrubs revival.

Has ABC canceled Scrubs revival or renewed it for Season 2?

So far, ABC has not renewed Scrubs revival for a season 2. However, the network has not canceled the show either, and given the other developments surrounding it, there is a good chance it will get a renewal order.

For instance, creator Bill Lawrence and original cast member Zach Braff have already discussed the prospect of several seasons of the revival. In an interview with ScreenRant at PaleyFest, Braff asserted that they would want to continue the series.

“None of us would be here if we weren’t planning to still do the show…I don’t know many, many [seasons]. That’s going to be on that guy…Hey, Zach, how many seasons of the show do you want to do?” Lawrence said.

Braff responded, “I think five.” Lawrence added, “So probably five.” He further added, “I think five’s a great number. Everyone should be happy with five. Whatever Bill wants.”

So, if there are plans to stretch the revival to five more seasons, it should not be long before ABC announces the renewal. Moreover, the revival has done well so far, despite being only nine episodes long.

Other original cast members, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, and John C. McGinley, also returned for the revival. Perhaps a second season could bring back more characters from the original series.
