Rege-Jean Page memorably portrayed Simon, the Duke of Hastings in Bridgerton season 1, but never returned to the series.

Fans have missed the Duke and his wife Daphne, played by Phoebe Dynevor.

In a recent interview, he was asked if he’d ever return.

“Listen, I don’t know if you’re on the internet, but a lot of people are saying we need you back on Bridgerton,” red carpet correspondent Leah Henry said to Rege-Jean on the red carpet. “Is there a chance you would ever return?”

He responded, “You know it’s funny you say that because I’m not on the internet.”

She then said, “Maybe we’ll see you again?” And he then responded, “Thank you very much,” and moved on to a different interview.

Showrunner Jess Brownell previously said she wasn’t interested in recasting.

“We are not interested in recasting the characters,” she tells Variety. “I think it would feel like a disservice to everything Regé and Phoebe set up in Season 1, and all the beautiful work they put into those characters.”
