Helpful Project Information:

  • Age Level: 4 and up – smaller children may need help
  • Mess Factor: Low. Scraps from cutting out patterns and glitter glue is less messy than actual glitter
  • Level of Difficulty: Easy
  • Time to Complete: 15-20 minutes
  • Cost Estimate: Less than $0.50 per Shamrock Man, excluding glitter glue

Crafting Tips:

  • For a group setting it might be easier to make multiple copies of the pattern to hand out to each table of children.
  • For some sparkle, use a bottle of green glitter glue to pipe a glittery border around the Shamrock man’s hands, feet, and head.
  • If construction paper doesn’t fit nicely into your printer, print the shamrock template.
  • You can attach a magnet to the back of the large shamrock to hang on the fridge!
  • You may want to cut off the stem from the largest shamrock as we have. This will curb any inappropriate giggles from the kids!

How to Make a Shamrock Man

  1. Print one large and four small shamrocks onto green construction paper. You can also print onto white paper and use as a template.
  2. Cut out the shamrocks. Cut the stem from the largest shamrock.
  3. Cut white construction paper into 4 strips, about 1.5-inches wide. Cut 2-inches off of two of the strips (arms).
  4. Fold the strips accordion style in a back and forth pattern.
