Sheriff Leading Search for Nancy Guthrie Says It Could Take 'Months or Years' to Find Her

Arizona sheriff Chris Nanos, the man leading the search for Savannah Guthrie‘s missing mother Nancy Guthrie, provided an update on the investigation on Friday (February 13).

While he said the investigators are dedicated and “looking hard,” he also added that it it could take “weeks or months or years” to find her.

“Maybe it’s an hour from now. Maybe it’s weeks or months or years from now. But we won’t quit. We’re going to find Nancy. We’re going to find this guy,” Nanos told The New York Times.

He also acknowledged that “it’s exhausting, these ups and downs. But we will keep moving forward.”

On Friday night, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement after conducting a raid involving FBI agents, deputies, and a SWAT unit at a house about 2 miles away from Nancy‘s Tucson home.

While a federal court-ordered search warrant was executed in connection with the case, no arrests were made.

“A traffic stop was also conducted, and a person was questioned but no arrests resulted from that incident. There are no further details available at this time,” said the statement.

Hours before the raid, law enforcement confirmed that they discovered DNA that does not belong to Nancy or her family at her house.
