Slayer has announced a limited-edition, liquid-filled vinyl reissue of Reign In Blood to mark the album’s 40th anniversary. Due November 20, the “Blood” Filled Zoetrope 1LP contains crimson-red liquid and will be available exclusively through Sound of Vinyl. The announcement coincides with the anniversary of the album’s original release on October 7, 1986, and comes as the band prepares for further performances of the record in its entirety this year.

Slayer’s third studio album, Reign In Blood marked the band’s first collaboration with producer Rick Rubin. Its recording lineup featured Tom Araya on vocals and bass, Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman on guitars, and Dave Lombardo on drums. The album’s 10 tracks run just 28 minutes and 58 seconds, opening with “Angel Of Death” and closing with “Raining Blood.” The new edition preserves that track sequence across two sides, with “Jesus Saves” ending Side A and “Criminally Insane” opening Side B. The album earned Gold certification from the RIAA, and its reach extended beyond metal: Public Enemy sampled “Angel Of Death” on “She Watch Channel Zero?!” from It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back.

For the anniversary performances, Araya and King are joined by drummer Paul Bostaph and guitarist Gary Holt. Their upcoming schedule includes Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes on October 21 and Sick New World Texas in Fort Worth on October 24. Two sold-out hometown headline shows follow at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum on November 13 and 14, with support from Cannibal Corpse, Cavalera, and Crowbar.

Slayer will close out the year with four South American headline dates: Bogotá’s Vive Claro – Distrito Cultural on December 5, Santiago’s Santa Laura Stadium on December 10, Buenos Aires’ Movistar Arena on December 14, and São Paulo’s Nubank Parque on December 17. Slayer’s most recent studio album, Repentless, arrived in 2015 and debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200.
