Gary Oldman‘s popular Apple TV show Slow Horses has locked its Season 6 release date. The hit series follows Jackson Lamb, who leads a group of failed or disgraced MI5 agents.

When is the release date for Slow Horses Season 6?

Slow Horses Season 6 will release on September 16, 2026, on Apple TV+, reports Variety. The six-episode season will release weekly, culminating with the finale on October 21, 2026.

The show is based on the bestselling Slow Horses novel series by British author Mick Herron. As for Slow Horses Season 6, it’s based specifically on Herron’s sixth and seventh novels, Joe Country and Slough House. The plot centers on MI5 boss Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) drawing the Slow Horses into “a high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.”

Speaking of the ensemble cast, Season 6 will see the return of Jack Lowden as River Cartwright, Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho, and Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish. Other members include Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Shirley Dander, Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa Guy, Tom Brooke as J.K. Coe, Jonathan Pryce as David Cartwright, and Hugo Weaving as Frank Harkness.

Joanna Scanlan as Moira Tregorian, Samuel West as Peter Judd MP, and Ruth Bradley as Emma Flyte will also return, while Lenny Rush joins the cast in a new role.

Slow Horses has Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Adam Randall, and Gail Mutrux as the executive producers. Douglas Urbanski and Gary Oldman are also executive producers.

The series premiered on Apple TV+ in 2022 and quickly developed a dedicated following. It also earned several BAFTA and Emmy nominations.

While fans wait for the next season, Slow Horses Season 7 has already been confirmed. It’s expected to arrive at some point in 2027.
