Solo Leveling‘s live-action series, which will arrive on Netflix, recently received a potential release date update. The streaming service announced the live-action adaptation of the hit webnovel in July 2025. Notably, Solo Leveling has also been adapted into a successful anime series.

Live-action Solo Leveling series gets filming window

Recently, a reliable leaker named @ggonigone reported that the live-action series adaptation Solo Leveling has received a filming update, which has in turn suggested a potential release date window for the series.

The leaker suggested that the live-action series may have seven parts. Moreover, filming might begin in early May 2026 and last about three to four months. Netflix has not issued a statement on this, however. Based on the leaker’s information about the project’s filming, a report by What’s On Netflix suggests that fans might see the Solo Leveling series as early as late 2027 or early 2028.

As of now, Netflix has only confirmed the lead cast of the Solo Leveling live-action series. The streaming platform revealed in July 2025 that South Korean actor Byeon Woo-seok will play the lead role of E-rank hunter Sung Jinwoo. In another Naver report, it was revealed that he will be joined by fellow South Korean actress Han So-hee in the series. It is rumored that So-hee will play the role of the only female S-rank hunter, Cha Hae-in.

The series will be directed by Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo, who have previously worked on successful projects such as Castaway on the Moon, Like a Virgin, My Dictator, and more. The Solo Leveling anime debuted in January 2024, and its second season won big at the 2025 Crunchyroll Awards. The anime adaptation won multiple awards, including Best Action, Best Character, and Anime of the Year, beating other competitors like One Piece and more.
