Sony has shared the first trailer for the next Insidious movie!

Insidious: Out of the Further will feature the return of Lin Shaye as Elise Rainier. The film will be directed by Jacob Chase and open in theaters this August.

The last Insidious movie to release, The Red Door, came out in 2023 and was meant to be the final one but things changed quite quickly after that thanks to its excellent box office return. The franchise as a whole has made more than $740 million at the global box office.

Out of the Further will concentrate on a new family.

Sony shared the following synopsis, “Amelia Eve stars as Gemma, a young mother raising her daughter in the house she grew up in who discovers she can travel into The Further, the purgatorial realm of lost souls at the heart of the Insidious universe. When something evil comes after her, Gemma discovers an ability that changes everything: she doesn’t just enter The Further, she can bring what lives there back to the real world. Once the demons realize her power, our world becomes their playground.”

Brandon Perea also stars.

Insidious: Out of the Further will be released in theaters on August 21.
