Spider-Man: Brand New Day has stirred up another Marvel fan theory. Attentive fans spotted a cameo that could have major implications for the MCU in the near future.

It’s a short classroom scene that has grabbed attention. A student named Cindy appears in one of Bruce Banner‘s classes. This has led many fans to believe that the movie quietly introduced Cindy Moon, the Marvel hero better known as Silk. The film never expands on the scene, but it has become a hot topic online.

Cindy Moon has an established history in Marvel Comics. She was first introduced in 2014 and was revealed to have been bitten by the same radioactive spider that gave Peter Parker his powers. Later, she adopted the hero name Silk and became a part of the Spider-Man universe. Although Marvel Studios hasn’t officially announced her MCU debut, the character has long been linked to Spider-Man’s world.

Marvel has yet to confirm the girl’s identity. However, many fans think that this might be a setup for Silk’s future appearances in the MCU. Reacting to the scene on X, user @nuel_irl wrote, “Why isn’t anyone talking about this? Cindy Moon was in Dr.Banner’s Class.”

@welovesweetboy_ posted, “Yo… ain’t this Cindy Moon?” @cloudfmz wrote, “Fun Fact: The girl who asked this question is Cindy Moon.” @preachersdjo also shared, “Am I the only one that caught the Cindy name drop?? as in CINDY MOON??”

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time a character named Cindy has appeared in the Spider-Man films. Tiffany Espensen played a student named Cindy in the earlier trilogy, while Shannon Young Cho plays a character with the same first name in the new film. Neither character has been given a last name on screen. As a result, fans are divided over whether Marvel quietly recast Cindy Moon or simply used the same first name for a different student.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Tom Holland in the lead role. The other cast includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, and Michael Mando.

The fourth MCU Spider-Man film is now running in theaters.
