There are movie collaborations, and then there are collaborations that make you want to walk into a coffee shop wearing heels just to order with the correct amount of attitude. Starbucks has chosen the latter route with its newly announced partnership with 20th Century Studios’ The Devil Wears Prada 2, a sequel twenty years in the making that arrived in cinemas on April 30, 2026. Fans do not have to wait for the opening credits to immerse themselves in the Runway universe, however, because starting today, three character-inspired beverages will appear in Starbucks stores across MENA, including the UAE.
The lineup reads like a casting sheet for your taste buds, with each drink capturing a specific personality from the original film’s enduring universe, letting you pick your drink in line with your favourite character. The Miranda Caffe Latte is a no foam, an extra shot, extra hot milk, and skimmed milk because ordering anything less would prompt questions nobody wants to answer. The Andy Oatmilk Cappuccino layers caramel and cinnamon into something simple yet elevated, fitting for a character walking the line between who she was and who she is becoming. The Nigel Espresso Con Panna delivers a doppio with mocha that promises to be bold and refined, much like the man himself.
Erin Silvoy, Starbucks senior vice president of global marketing, noted that the coffee chain has been part of The Devil Wears Prada universe since the original film, so reviving that connection felt natural. What makes this more than a standard promotional tie-in is the depth of integration, as the brand will appear within the actual film and the Starbucks Reserve location inside New York City’s Empire State Building will hand out limited edition copies of Runway Magazine, the movie’s legendary publication. Lylle Breier, EVP, Partnerships, Promotions, Synergy & Events at Disney, called the collaboration a bold and thematic global program designed to delight fans, which feels accurate given how aggressively charming the entire concept is.
Silvoy closed the announcement with an invitation to dress up, order up, and attend fashion’s biggest event of the year, which is a much more exciting way to describe getting coffee than anyone has managed in years. The sequel brings back Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci alongside director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna, with new additions including Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, and Kenneth Branagh. Whether the drinks live up to Miranda’s standards remains to be seen, though giving her anything with foam or lukewarm milk would be a mistake that Starbucks wouldn’t be making.
