Let’s grab your supplies, channel your inner artist, and let’s get crafting!

Instructions:
Paint Your Plaque
Begin by painting your wood plaque with your desired color. For this project, Apple Barrel Black was used to create a bold base. Use the hairdryer to help speed up drying.

Print & Prepare
Print out your free Halloween design. For this project, a bold “October 31” design was used to really capture that spooky holiday spirit.

You will cut or tear off the extra paper that will not be needed. Be sure to leave a little on the extra paper to be used for burning the edges.
Attach to Plaque
Apply Mod Podge or glue to the wooden plaque and carefully place the printed design on top. Smooth out any bubbles or wrinkles.

Burn the Edges
Carefully burn around the edges of the paper with a lighter. This gives it an old, distressed look that instantly adds character. Make sure to do this step safely and over a non-flammable surface. (I sat the Plaque on top of the Mod Podge jar).

Distress the Look
For a more aged finish, lightly brush on antiquing wax.
Display Your Work
Once dry, your plaque is ready to be displayed with your Halloween decor. It’s the perfect addition to mantels, shelves, or entryway tables.
