The person who allegedly leaked The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender has been arrested.

The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender — also known as Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender — is an upcoming animated movie directed by Lauren Montgomery. Set after the events of Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, the movie is set to be released on Paramount+ later this year.

The film was originally supposed to be released in theaters, though Paramount changed its distribution plans and decided to release it directly to streaming instead. Then, earlier this month, the movie was leaked on X.

What is the update on the Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender leaker?

Per Variety, a 26-year-old suspect has now been arrested for leaking the movie online.

The article states, “Paramount+ had been investigating the online leak of its upcoming film, and sources familiar with the situation said the leak had not come from within the studio. Local police in Singapore put out a statement saying that it seized electronic devices, which included a digital copy of the unreleased film. According to the report, the man had gained unauthorized remote access to a media server, from which he was able to download the film before distributing it online.”

The alleged suspect could potentially face up to seven years in jail time, “and/or a potential fine of up to $50,000, according to local laws.”

A spokesperson said when the movie was leaked, “It was heartbreaking to see footage from The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender leak online. This leak did not originate from Flying Bark. Our studio proudly partnered on the production until the very end and we acknowledge the filmmakers, cast, artists and animators who worked tirelessly to produce this incredibly crafted film.”

The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender is scheduled to arrive on Paramount+ this October.
