“Don’t Cha,” the 2005 smash-hit from the Pussycat Dolls, has been reinvented in a whole new way. Today, the track got a new remix courtesy of BLOND:ISH, who reimagines the flirty original into a straight-up club-ready banger. The track is available now across digital platforms.

Written by Busta Rhymes and CeeLo Green, the Pussycat Dolls recorded and released “Don’t Cha” in 2005. The track climbed up the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number two behind Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together.” The track quickly became a staple, with the frank and provocative chorus, “Don’t cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me” catching immediate attention. “It’s all about being who you are, having fun and being confident — and feeling hot,” group member Nicole Kea told MTV in 2005. “It’s not so much about looking hot … although looking hot is important.”

Later this year, the Pussycat Dolls will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album PCD, which includes “Don’t Cha” as well as other hits like “Beep” and “Buttons.” Starting as a burlesque group in Southern California, the Pussycat Dolls achieved a new level of success when they turned their attention toward pop music in the early 2000s. “Don’t Cha” may still be their signature and best-known song and has frequently appeared in other media since its release, appearing in movies like Easy A and Alvin And The Chipmunks. After lead singer Nicole Scherzinger spent time as a judge on The X Factor, the group also reunited to perform the song in 2019.

BLOND:ISH, meanwhile, has also long been making her name as a DJ and producer for years performing first in Canada in 2008. Since then, she’s shown her skill for working across genres and sounds, releasing five albums of original material and remixing hits from the likes of Diplo and Taylor Swift. “Everyone’s different, and it might confuse some people, but when people understand that my music is about energy—not a certain genre—they’ll get the message,” BLOND:ISH told Mixmag. “When I go to the studio, it’s not about making a banger. It’s about crafting music with intention, with purpose.”
