School of Rock rang true to fans watcjing Jack Black‘s comedic, musical stylings and the chemistry he had with his young co-stars. The Richard Linklater movie was special to plenty of the cast members, Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli. From child co-stars to an engaged couple, their wedding was the perfect opportunity to reunite the School of Rock cast.

In Linklater’s School of Rock, Caitlin Hale played backup singer Marta and Angelo Massagli played the classroom’s security, Frankie. The two stars interacted beyond sharing screen time in the Paramount Pictures movie. As adults, the pair eventually engaged and tied the knot on January 4th.

According to The Independent, School of Rock star Rivkah Reyes filmed Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli’s wedding on TikTok, showing nine of the cast members attended with their parents and siblings. They were all dancing to Stevie Nick’s “Edge of Seventeen” in reference to the famous scene when Principal Mullins gets tipsy at a bar singing the song. Hale called the special reunion a “time capsule moment.” Take a look at the fun TikTok below:

Unfortunately, Jack Black couldn’t attend the wedding because of his filming schedule. However, he did send a “generous” video message to the newlywed couple wishing them well.

How did the two School of Rock stars get together?

Caitlin Hale and Angelo Massagli were 10 years old when they met during School of Rock. While they didn’t date as child actors, Massagli told The New York Times he was still impressed with her during their auditions:

“I was like, ‘wow, that girl’s really, really, really something else.”

After School of Rock premiered in 2003, the two cast members took separate paths and ventured away from show business. In fact, Hale became an OB-GYN ultrasound technologist and Massagli is now a lawyer for TikTok. While the two kept in touch after filming through the cast’s group chat, their reconnection occurred when they both studied in Florida in 2018. What started as lunch between two former co-stars turned into something more:

“We thought that was kind of it,” said Massagli. “But we just kept grabbing dinners and going out for the weekends. We were like, ‘something’s brewing here.’”

Caitlin Hale’s intuition that her boyfriend would be “the one” certainly ended up being correct. The School of Rock pair became engaged in June 2023 and said “I Do” to ring in 2025.
