Sweat-proof makeup is a must come summer, especially if you've got an important outdoor occasion like a wedding on the calendar this year. Professional makeup artist Michaeline Becker has a quick, easy fix for sweat-proofing your glam routine even when the heat and humidity is high. According to Becker, she picked it up while assisting the legendary Pat McGrath at a runway show in Venice Beach.

When you sweat profusely, it can cause makeup to melt or turn slippery, which in turn can make it look patchy or uneven—not exactly what you want to see in the mirror on a summer date night or while playing the very important role of bride or bridesmaid, when you need your makeup to last allll day and night. To keep your gorgeous visage dry and not dripping, it's all in the prep step. “The secret is to use something that stops the sweat before it starts,” explains Becker. In the video, she shows off a tube of Neat Feat's 3B Face Saver Gel facial antiperspirant. (Becker also likes Alcone Company's Stop the Sweat, which the brand says is a favorite of “actors and performers.”)

It's so simple—and so genius. The lightweight gel antiperspirant acts like an underarm antiperspirant to keep you dry, thus helping your makeup stay perfect longer on those sticky, sweaty, 90-degrees-and-rising days. Becker advises applying the facial antiperspirant to clean, dry skin before any skin care or makeup. Depending on where you live and how much you typically sweat, this could be a daily application or saved for “SOS” moments, not to mention an essential addition to a makeup artist's kit.
