This crisp, bright mix of lime, mint, and rum is made with a splash of bubbly soda for a light, citrusy, and perfectly cool beverage.

- Flavor: Mojitos have a sweet, citrusy, and minty flavor with a fizzy, boozy kick.
- Skill Level: This is the easiest cocktail ever. Just muddle, mix, and serve!
- Technique: No need to shake or strain this recipe. It just requires a little muddling! ‘Muddling’ means gently pressing or mashing herbs and spices to extract their oils and flavors. You can use a cocktail muddler or the end of a wooden spoon.
- Recommended Tools: A juicer or a citrus press is a great tool to make quick work of the limes in this recipe.

Ingredient Tips for Mojitos
- Limes: Fresh limes offer the brightest, most tart flavor, but a bottle of lime juice works if you don’t have enough limes on hand. Before juicing, use a peeler to remove some of the peel or zest some of the peel as a garnish.
- Mint: Mojito mint is the main attraction for a refreshing mojito. Leaves are best used for muddling, while sprigs are best for garnishing.
- White Rum: Light rum is a must-have for any home bar for drinks like mojitos, daiquiris, and pina coladas.
- Simple Syrup: Make a quick sugar syrup for this recipe and save the extras for sweetened coffee.
- For the best results, serve your homemade mojitos from a chilled, clear pitcher to show off the lime slices and mint leaves.
- For a fancy presentation, add lime wedges and a mint sprig to your highball glass when serving. Gently slap the mint on your palm before garnishing to enhance the aroma.
- To keep leftovers from getting watered down, you can strain out the ice before storing it in the refrigerator.

Mojito Recipe
Homemade mojitos are light, minty, and super refreshing. They are perfect for warm days!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes
- ▢ 7 limes approx. 1 cup fresh lime juice
- ▢ ½ cup mint leaves
- ▢ ¾ cup simple syrup or to taste, recipe below
- ▢ 1 cup white rum
- ▢ club soda
- ▢ ice
Juice the limes into a 2L pitcher.
Add the mint and muddle/squish really well to release the flavors of the mint.
Add 1 cup of rum and ¾ cup of simple syrup or more to taste.
Fill the pitcher with ice, top with club soda, & stir.
SIMPLE SYRUP
Bring 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water to a boil. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Cool and store in the fridge. (I keep mine in a clean creamer container).
Store leftover mojitos in the fridge for up to 2 days. Keep the mint and lime in, but give it a good stir before serving. Add fresh ice and a splash of club soda to perk it up!
Store simple syrup in a clean, sealed jar or bottle in the fridge. It will last about 1 month. For best results, let it cool before sealing and refrigerating.
