Ticketmaster Responds After Requiring IDs & Selfie Checks for Noah Kahan Presale Sign-Up

Noah Kahan just announced that he’s going on tour this year and a Ticketmaster sign-up has launched, but fans are noting something that’s different about this presale.

The 29-year-old musician will head out on the Great Divide Tour beginning in June and fans must sign up for the Artist Presale to access the sale.

Even though no codes are needed, access to the sale is tied to your Ticketmaster account. Anyone who signs up can join the sale.

Some fans have noted on X / Twitter that they’ve had to upload their ID or do a selfie check to have access to the sale. Fans have spoke out with skepticism about giving Ticketmaster that much access to their personal information.

Now, Ticketmaster is explaining why they’re requiring this from some users.

“Working in partnership with the artist, extra protections will be in place when signing up for the Artist Presale. Some fans may be asked to complete a short security check with a quick selfie, or in rare cases be asked for your ID. Thanks for participating and helping us protect this presale for fans,” the company said in a statement.

Ticketmaster also noted that if you’re NOT asked to upload an ID, you’re okay.

“To protect fans during this Artist Presale sign up, accounts with incomplete profiles or suspicious activity may be asked to complete the security check. Once you’ve hit this page, you’re good to go!” the company said.
