The Academy Awards are keeping up with Timothée Chalamet’s work.

The “Wonka” star, 30, has earned his third Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his role in “Marty Supreme.”

Chalamet is now the youngest male actor in history to garner three nods in that category.

During last year’s Oscars, Chalamet lost to Adrien Brody for Best Actor in “The Brutalist.”

“If there’s five people at an awards show, and four people go home losing, you don’t think those four people are at the restaurant like, ‘Damn, we didn’t win?’” he reflected to Vogue in Nov. 2025 about being disappointed. “I’ve been around some deeply generous, no-ego actors, and maybe some of them are going, ‘That was fun.’ But I know for a fact a lot of them are going, ‘F–k!’”

“People can call me a try-hard, and they can say whatever the f–k,” Chalamet continued. “But I’m the one actually doing it here.”

Chalamet also spoke about losing at the ceremony while chatting with SiriusXM. He noted that it’s “uniquely hilarious” to go home without a win and to tear up your prepared speech.

“You think to yourself, ‘You narcissistic arrogant prick. On what planet did you think you were gonna use this?’”

The “A Rainy Day in New York” star, meanwhile, is already on a role this award season, taking home the Critics Choice Award for Best Actor earlier this month.

He was previously nominated at the Critics for “Call Me By Your Name” and “A Complete Unknown.” In 2019, he was up for Best Supporting Actor in “Beautiful Boy.”

“Marty Supreme” also landed Chalamet the Best Actor award at this year’s Golden Globes.

He had four previous nominations dating back to 2018.

“It’s a movie about the pursuit of a dream,” Chalamet told IndieWire last year about his latest project. “I’m leaving it on the field. Whether it’s the merch or the Zoom or the media appearances, I’m trying to get this out in the biggest way possible. In the spirit of Marty Mauser.”

In a recent viral TikTok video, Chalamet opened up about his work ethic during “Marty Supreme.”

“This is probably my best performance, and it’s been like seven, eight years that I feel like I’ve been handing in really, really committed, top-of-the-line performances,” he expressed. “It’s important to say it out loud because the discipline and the work ethic I’m bringing to these things, I don’t want people to take for granted.”

The nominations for Best Actor at the 2026 Oscars.

Also up for Best Actor at the 2026 Oscars are Michael B. Jordan for “Sinners,” Leonardo DiCaprio in “One Battle After Another,” Wagner Moura for “The Secret Agent” and Ethan Hawke for “Blue Moon.”

Chalamet currently holds the title of youngest male actor to score three Best Actor Oscar nods since Marlon Brando.

The icon, who died at 80 in 2004, was nominated for Best Actor in “A Streetcar Named Desire” in 1952, 1953’s “Viva Zapata!” and “Julius Caesar” in 1954.

Brando was just 29 during the 1954 Oscar nominations in February. He turned 30 that April.

Chalamet celebrated his own 30th birthday in December.

“THANK U FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES THANK U THANK U THANK U!!!!!! 🥳TIMMYTIM IS OFFICIALLY UNC 🫡 #uncletimmytim,” he captioned his celebratory Instagram post.

Jennifer Lawrence, for her part, made history when she became the youngest actor ever, male or female, to earn four Oscar nominations with her 2016 nod for “Joy.”

The “Hunger Games” star, 35, was first nominated in 2011 for “Winter’s Bone” when she was 20 years old, then won in 2013 for “Silver Linings Playbook.”

Lawrence was only 23 when she garnered her third nomination for Best Supporting Actress in “American Hustle.”
