Credit: GettyCBS Sports is addressing Tony Romo‘s future with the network following his recent arrest.
If you didn’t see the news, the 46-year-old retired NFL quarterback was arrested last week on suspicion of operating while intoxicated (OWI) in Milwaukee, Wis.
In a statement from CBS Sports released on Friday (July 31), the network said that Tony will be away from his role as an analyst “until further notice.”
“Tony Romo is on leave from his role at CBS Sports until further notice,” CBS Sports shared, per People. “JJ Watt will join Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson as CBS Sports’ lead NFL team during Tony Romo’s absence.”
The 2026 NFL regular season officially begins on Wednesday, September 9.
After playing with the Dallas Cowboys for 13 seasons, Tony retired in 2016. He then joined CBS as an analyst in April 2017.
