The album is led by the single “3,2,1.” Written by Josh Miller, Summer Overstreet and Jordan Reynolds, the song recalls regret and missed chances: “three words, two late, damn girl you’re the one that got away.”

What Not To is produced by Chris LaCorte. “Like red yarn connecting a bunch of pins on a wall,” the album connects themes of maturity, compassion, and salvation, as evidenced by the title track. Written by Wetmore with his best friend Jacob Hackworth, LaCorte, Chase McGill, and Jameson Rogers, the deeply personal song reveals an intense devotion: “Momma said you don’t pray no more/breaks my heart, so I do it for you.”

The Washington-born Wetmore will make his headline debut at the Ryman Auditorium on May 21. “It’s an absolute dream come true to headline the Mother Church of Country Music for the first time, and it means even more to share it with one of my best friends, Jacob Hackworth,” Tucker shared in a statement. “Can’t wait to see y’all on May 21. Feeling beyond blessed.”

Almost exactly one year ago, Wetmore released his debut commercial single, “Wine Into Whiskey.” He followed that with “Wind Up Missin’ You.” The back-to-back RIAA Platinum-certified hits both appeared on the Billboard Hot 100. Both songs were featured on Wetmore’s Waves on a Sunset EP, which was released in October.

In 2025, Wetmore will headline dates in the UK, US, and Europe, including a sold-out stop at London’s Electric Ballroom. He will also join Thomas Rhett’s Better In Boots Tour 2025 as direct support across 33 dates this summer. In March, he will perform at Country 2 Country, Europe’s biggest country music festival.

Last summer, Wetmore had a pair of songs featured on the Twisters soundtrack, “Already Had It” and “Steal My Thunder” with Conner Smith. After making his Grand Ole Opry debut in September, Wetmore was recently named an Opry NextStage Artist.
